All Blacks Sevens team celebrate the London Sevens Festival of Food
This year the organizers of the London Sevens Series created a feast of rugby at Twickenham, featuring more than 20 international street food tucks, stalls and bars, offering food from all over the world. To celebrate the food festival theme AIG invited three players from the All Blacks Sevens team to judge a bake off inspired event!
Guest had to bake a sports-inspired cake. The bakers really went to town and we saw a mouth-watering selection of cakes, including rugby balls, football shirts and racing car tyres. It made the judging tricky as all entries were scored out of 10 on Taste and Creativity. The players were responsible for judging the cakes on their Creativity and were joined on the judging panel by an experienced guest pastry chef and an AIG judge to score them on Taste.
As it was days before their last leg in London, the players judged each entry solely on Creativity.
The winner and 3 runners up received a NZ7s goodie bag.
We also gave @AIGRugby followers on Instagram the chance to take part in the cake contest, asking users to share photos of their rugby-inspired cake using #AIGCakeComp. The three players picked the winner who also received a signed jersey.
