In the lead up to the 2017 British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand, AIG New Zealand released an original online video featuring All Blacks players coming face-to-face with lions at Auckland Zoo.
All Blacks players Beauden Barrett, Julian Savea, Nathan Harris and Charlie Faumuina were told they would be going into Auckland Zoo’s lion enclosure to meet the 150kg animals, only the lions they met didn’t quite live up to their formidable reputation.
While the players prepared to enter an enclosure with real lions, AIG swapped the big cats out for a decidedly more tame pack of promising young players from Pakuranga Rugby Club dressed as lions who charged the players in the enclosure.
The video aims to highlight some of strong values AIG shares with the All Blacks, including a crucial understanding of preparation and safety.
New Zealand’s rugby sevens teams made history in San Francisco over the weekend when they won back-to-back Rugby World Cup Sevens championships in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
